Its not as easy a question as it might sound. Historically people were told that they needed to see the dentist every 6 months but that’s not always the case. Here we will try to clarify how often or when you need to see the dentist.
When a tooth gets heavily broken down, starts giving pain or gets an infection a decision may need to be made on whether to save the tooth (root canal) or whether to extract it. Most often this is due to pain associated with tooth decay, a deep filling or an infection.
Even if it’s been many years since your last dental check-up or if you’re a regular attender its always good to refresh what’s done as part of a full dental check-up. Most people are just worried if they need fillings but there’s much more to it than that.
