We would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Christmas. Note our opening hours above and here are a few tips to keep those teeth healthy and pain free while you enjoy the Christmas break.

Christmas Tip Dental Tip 1: Remember to brush and floss regularly!
One way to keep your teeth healthy for Christmas is to establish a regular routine and stick to it. It’s easy to let things slip over the Christmas break when you might be staying up later, tucking into a few extra sweets watching the late night Christmas movie. Remembering to brush regularly removes any residue from your teeth, helping them remain strong and healthy
Adding flossing to your routine is highly recommended to remove any bits of food lodged between your teeth.
Christmas Tip Dental Tip 2: Drink plenty of water
Still water is a good way to rinse your mouth out throughout the day, so remember to take regular drinks and swish it around your gums before swallowing.
Christmas Tip Dental Tip 3: Picking your time for treats
It’s not so much about how much sugar we consume that hurt our teeth; it’s more about how long that sugar sits in your mouth. If you are eating and drinking sweets and sugary drinks then do it at mealtimes.
This is when we produce more saliva. Saliva is the mouth’s own natural cleaning fluid. It helps to neutralise the acid that is produced by bacteria in the mouth and it will also help to rinse away food particles and sugary substances.
Christmas Tip Dental Tip 4: Chewing gum
Chewing sugar-free gum after meals (or sweet treats) is a great way of refreshing your mouth. the chewing process stimulates the production of saliva, which is the mouth’s own natural cleaning fluid, and helps to prevent plaque or calculus building up, until you get to your toothbrush for a proper clean.
